Dear Edgewater Families,
I am honored to start my 6th year as the principal of Edgewater Elementary. There is absolutely no other place I'd rather be in than in the company of a school community that is caring and committed to do what is best for students.
For those who don't know me well, I want to share a little about my background.

I was born in Mexico City, and moved to the United States in 1978.  I am fully bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish and English, and stand for an equitable and excellent education for all. I value hard work, respect for all people, and collaboration between school, families and community.

I have 29 years of experience in public education; ten years as a classroom and special education teacher, and the rest in coaching and administration. I have dedicated my entire career to working with diverse student populations in Title I schools.

I believe that all children have a right to receive an excellent education, and that it is our responsibility to ensure that every single student grows to their highest potential. To achieve this, schools must create a school learning environment that fosters a culture of trust and collaboration, builds talent, shared leadership, and promotes a never ending passion for personal and professional growth. My mission is to continue to create a school community where we never stop reflecting and learning, always trying to find ways to challenge our thinking, ourselves, and one another; a community where children always come first.
I am here to serve our students, families and staff, and will do it with respect and grace. Let this school year be one of our best years yet!!

iSi se puede!
